Learning / Personal site

A personal site, with a professional front door

Why teaching belongs at the entrance, and why the rest of life belongs here too.

About authorship & AI

A school leader should be able to arrive here and quickly understand what I teach. That is why Theory of Knowledge and Humanities are clear at the entrance, and why the work section contains substantial examples rather than a list of skills.

The site also needs to be a place that makes sense beyond recruitment. Movement, languages, making and games are not decorative details added to soften a professional profile. They occupy time and attention in their own right.

Start with work that already exists

There is no need to manufacture another professional life for the website. Lessons, curriculum decisions and a developed academic-integrity framework already provide material worth explaining. The useful work is selecting, clarifying and showing the limits of those accounts.

That means distinguishing design from delivery, and delivery from evidence of an outcome. It also means leaving confidential school material where it belongs. A public-facing account can explain a decision without reproducing a student’s work or a private exchange.

Leave room for the rest

The personal page gives movement and other interests enough space to be more than a footer list. Some have intersected with teaching; not all of them need to. Dance can be dance, and a strategy game can simply be a game.

Notes can accumulate across those topics without a promised publishing schedule. The aim is a durable home for selected work and writing, with space for a life that continues beyond employment.
